NAPOLCOM PNPE Mock Test Strategy

The NAPOLCOM PNP Entrance Exam is a 3-hour (8:00–11:00 a.m.), pen-and-paper, multiple-choice test in four areas: General Information/Uprightness, Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and Logical Reasoning. The passing mark is 70%. A few full practice tests under real conditions are the best way to see where you stand.

Schedule across an 8-week plan

That's three full tests and four area tests.

Building the practice test

NAPOLCOM doesn't publish the number of items or how they split across the four areas, and it doesn't release past papers. So:

• Use a reviewer book's full practice set, or put one together from practice questions covering all four areas in a roughly even mix.
• Use questions you haven't seen before. Reused questions make your score look better than it is.
• Keep the full 3 hours even if your set is shorter or longer than you expect; the point is to practice your pace and stamina.

Running it

• Start at 8:00 a.m. if you can, the same time as the real exam.
• Pencil (No. 2), an answer sheet you shade, no calculator, phone in another room.
• Set a 3-hour timer. The free mock test timer works.
• No breaks you wouldn't get on exam day.

Pacing on test day

Divide the time by the number of items in your set to get your per-item budget, and check your pace every 30 minutes. In general:

• Move quickly through vocabulary and grammar items, where you either know the answer or you don't.
• Spend the banked time on Quantitative word problems, bar graphs and Logical syllogisms.
• Mark hard items, move on, and come back.
• There's no published penalty for a wrong answer, so shade an answer for every item before time runs out.

Scoring

• Total correct ÷ total items × 100, plus a percentage for each area.
• NAPOLCOM doesn't publish how it computes the general rating, so treat your percentage as a rough guide and aim to be clearly above 70% in every area.
• Log every wrong answer with a reason: didn't know it, misread it, ran out of time. The reason tells you what to drill next week.
