NAPOLCOM (National Police Commission) administers the PNP Entrance Examination (PNPE), which gives the police eligibility needed for appointment as Patrolman/Patrolwoman.
Exam format:
- 3 hours, pen and paper, multiple choice
- General Information/Uprightness (Constitution, PNP laws, criminal justice system, values), Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and Logical Reasoning
Pass mark: 70%. Fee: ₱400. Who can take it: bachelor's degree holders aged 21 to 30 on exam day.
Recent pass rates: 26.56% (April 2025), 35.33% (October 2025), 24.26% (April 2026).
When it's held: twice a year — April and October in 2025 and 2026. The 2027 dates aren't announced yet.
After passing, applicants go through the PNP's own recruitment screening (including height, medical and physical requirements) before appointment and recruit training.
What it means for you:
- The PNP entry rank is Patrolman/Patrolwoman — the old "PO1" title was renamed under RA 11200 (2019)
