PNPA (Philippine National Police Academy) is the four-year academy for officer cadets of the PNP, BFP and BJMP, in Silang, Cavite. PNP graduates are commissioned as Police Lieutenant.
Entry requirements (2026 cycle):
- Pass the PNPA Cadet Admission Test (PNPACAT), followed by psychological, medical and physical tests and interviews
- 18 to 22 years old before 1 May 2027
- SHS graduate with a GWA of at least 85%
- At least 5'2" (male) or 5'0" (female)
During cadetship: cadets receive base pay (₱40,284/month in 2026 under the MUP Base Pay Schedule).
Recent cycle: the 2026 PNPACAT is on 25 October 2026 (applications closed 30 September 2026). In November 2025, 1,627 of 21,179 examinees passed (7.68%).
Career ladder (PNP, since RA 11200): Police Lieutenant → Police Captain → Police Major → Police Lieutenant Colonel → Police Colonel → Police Brigadier General → Police Major General → Police Lieutenant General → Police General.
