NAPOLCOM PNPE Passing Rate: Recent Results and the 70% Mark

The NAPOLCOM PNP Entrance Exam (PNPE) has a passing mark of 70%. In recent sittings, 24–35% of examinees reached it.

That's roughly 31,000–41,000 examinees per sitting, twice a year. The next sitting is October 18, 2026; NAPOLCOM hasn't announced its results date. The 2027 dates aren't announced yet either (the first sitting is usually in April).

Why most examinees fall short

NAPOLCOM doesn't publish why people fail, but the exam's structure explains a lot:

• 70% across four different skills. General Information/Uprightness, Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and Logical Reasoning all count, and one weak area drags the whole rating down.
• Three hours of sustained focus. Pacing and stamina matter as much as knowledge.
• Math by hand. Percentages, fractions, number series, word problems and bar graphs, with no calculator.

What to do about it

• Give yourself a real review period. Eight weeks at 2–3 hours a day is a sensible target for most working applicants.
• Cover all four areas. Don't leave Quantitative or Logical Reasoning for last.
• Take full timed practice tests. At least three, under real conditions (3 hours, pencil, no calculator). See the PNPE mock test strategy.
• Read daily. One English editorial a day helps vocabulary and reading comprehension.

What passing gets you

Passing gives you the police eligibility required for appointment as Patrolman/Patrolwoman. It doesn't guarantee a slot. After the exam, the PNP runs its own recruitment screening, and appointment also requires the RA 11549 height standard (1.57 m for men, 1.52 m for women).

The PNPE is for bachelor's-degree holders aged 21–30 on exam day. It is not the route into the PNP Academy: PNPA cadets are selected through PNPA's own Cadet Admission Test. See PNPA vs the PNPE.
