PNP Salary 2026: Patrolman to Police General
A PNP Patrolman/Patrolwoman earns ₱31,151 a month in base pay in 2026, up from ₱29,668. The most senior rank, Police General, earns ₱157,274 a month.
Uniformed personnel are not on the civilian Salary Grade table. Their pay follows the separate Base Pay Schedule for military and uniformed personnel (MUP). Executive Order No. 107 (s. 2025) updates it in three tranches: 1 January 2026 (about +5%), 1 January 2027 (about +4.75%) and 1 January 2028 (about +4.55%), roughly 15% in total. DBM National Budget Circular No. 600 implements the 2026 tranche.

Allowances and bonuses
- PERA: ₱2,000 a month
- Subsistence allowance: ₱350 a day from 1 January 2026 (EO 107), up from ₱150
- Longevity pay: 10% of base pay for every five years of service
- Hazard and combat duty pay: for qualifying assignments
- Mid-year and year-end bonuses: one month's base pay each, plus a ₱5,000 cash gift
- Clothing allowance and other allowances set by the PNP and DBM
- Retirement and pension benefits under the uniformed services' rules

PERA and the subsistence allowance alone add about ₱12,500 a month to base pay (₱2,000 PERA plus ₱350 a day for about 30 days). Mid-year and year-end bonuses (one month's base pay each) and the ₱5,000 cash gift come on top. Deductions (GSIS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, tax) come out.
Career advancement
Promotion depends on time in grade, required training and schooling, performance, eligibility and available positions. Compulsory retirement in the PNP is at age 56.
How the NAPOLCOM exam fits
To be appointed as Patrolman/Patrolwoman, civilian applicants need police eligibility, usually by passing the NAPOLCOM PNP Entrance Exam (PNPE). It's a 3-hour, pen-and-paper exam covering general information, verbal, quantitative and logical reasoning, with a 70% pass mark. It's open to bachelor's degree holders aged 21 to 30 on exam day, and the fee is ₱400. The next PNPE is on October 18, 2026 (registration closed August 21); the one after that is expected around April 2027, not yet announced.
