MLE in 4 Months: Standard Prep Plan
A 16-week plan for the Midwife Licensure Exam: five subjects over two days (Obstetrics; Fundamentals of Health Care; Infant Care and Feeding; Primary Health Care; Professional Growth and Development). You pass with a 75% general rating and no subject below 50%.
Time budget
- 2 hours per weekday × 5 = 10 hours
- 4 hours each weekend day × 2 = 8 hours
- Total per week: 18 hours
- Total: 288 hours
Phased structure
Phase 1 (weeks 1–4): Foundations
- Diagnostic full-length practice test (all five subjects, timed)
- Anatomy and physiology of the reproductive system, pregnancy physiology
- Microbiology, infection control and pharmacology basics
- Fundamentals of Health Care: basic procedures and health assessment
Phase 2 (weeks 5–10): Subject depth
- Obstetrics: antenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum care, complications and emergencies
- Infant Care and Feeding: newborn care, breastfeeding, complementary feeding, IMCI, EPI
- Primary Health Care: PHC principles, community health, DOH programs, family planning
- Professional Growth and Development: RA 7392, ethics, leadership, research basics
Phase 3 (weeks 11–14): Mocks and remediation
- Single-subject mocks for each of the five subjects
- Two full-length mocks
- Targeted remediation after each one
Phase 4 (weeks 15–16): Refinement
- One full-length mock under exam conditions
- Flashcard review of laws, programs and the EPI schedule
- Lighter final week
Daily habit
Spend 15 minutes a day on DOH program points and the Code of Ethics. Small daily doses stick better than a weekend cram.
