The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) entrance exam is the gateway to jail service careers in PHL.

What BJMP tests

5 sub-tests, ~3 hours:

  1. Verbal Ability
  2. Numerical Ability
  3. Logical Reasoning
  4. General Information (Constitution, BJMP basics, criminology basics)
  5. Clerical Operations

Total ~150-180 items. No negative marking.

Pass criteria

Composite ≥ 70% qualifies for further screening (PFT, medical, neuro, background investigation).

BJMP pay follows the MUP base pay schedule (EO 107, s. 2025), not the civilian SSL. 2026 first-tranche monthly base:
