PUPCET in 3 Months: The Standard Prep Plan
PUPCET in 3 Months: The Standard Prep Plan
Most PUPCET candidates start preparing 3 months before their scheduled exam. This is the standard prep window — long enough to cover scope, short enough to maintain focus.
This post is the realistic 12-week plan that the PUPCET 2026 pillar guide hands off to.
The realistic time budget
A 12-week prep at:
- 1.5 hours per weekday × 5 days = 7.5 hours
- 4 hours each weekend day × 2 days = 8 hours
- Total per week: 15.5 hours
- Total across 12 weeks: 186 hours
That's enough for most candidates to reach competitive composite scores (70+ on average), even allowing for missed sessions.
Week-by-week structure
| Week | Focus | Hours |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Diagnostic mock + topic-gap identification + first foundations | 12 |
| 2 | Math: arithmetic + algebra basics | 16 |
| 3 | Math: word problems + geometry; English daily reading habit starts | 16 |
| 4 | Math: trig + statistics; English grammar drilling | 16 |
| 5 | Mid-cycle full mock; remediation focus | 16 |
| 6 | Science: biology + earth science | 16 |
| 7 | Science: chemistry conceptual + periodic table | 16 |
| 8 | Science: physics mechanics; English RC passage drilling | 16 |
| 9 | Sub-test mocks (rotate) | 16 |
| 10 | Abstract reasoning practice + targeted weak-topic drilling | 16 |
| 11 | Test-conditions full mock + remediation | 16 |
| 12 | Light review + last full mock + rest | 12 |
Daily structure
Weekday template (1.5 hours):
| Day | Focus |
|---|---|
| Monday | Math drilling |
| Tuesday | Science drilling |
| Wednesday | English grammar / vocabulary |
| Thursday | RC passage practice |
| Friday | Mixed review or rest |
Weekend template (4 hours each day):
| Day | Focus |
|---|---|
| Saturday morning | Mock or extended drilling on weakest area |
| Sunday morning | Mock review + remediation planning |
Daily reading habit
Throughout all 12 weeks: one English editorial per day from a major Philippine paper. Builds vocabulary and RC speed simultaneously. Non-negotiable.
Realistic outcome
For a candidate running 15 hours per week consistently:
| Diagnostic baseline | Realistic test-day composite |
|---|---|
| 50 | 65-72 |
| 60 | 70-77 |
| 70 | 75-82 |
| 80 | 80-86 |
If your diagnostic is below 45, consider extending to 16 weeks of prep or accept that competitive Sta Mesa programmes may be a stretch.
When to compress further
If you have less than 3 months — say, 6 weeks — the plan compresses:
- Weeks 1-2: Math algebra + biology (highest yield)
- Weeks 3-4: Math word problems + chemistry conceptual + English grammar
- Week 5: Mock + remediation on hardest topics
- Week 6: Test-conditions mock + light review
Realistic gain at 15 hours/week for 6 weeks: 8-12 composite points.
Where Super Tutor fits
Super Tutor's PUPCET track follows the 12-week sequence above. Free tier covers algebra and biology; the Focused plan (₱49/week, ₱249/month, ₱1,999/year) opens the rest plus mocks.
For a 3-month plan, monthly billing (₱249 × 3 = ₱747) typically lands cheaper than a single weekend at a review centre.

The PUPCET 2026 pillar guide covers the standard approach. Per-sub-test plans: Math, Science, English + RC. The mock strategy covers the cycle.
