DLSU DCAT in 3 Months: A 12-Week Prep Plan

DLSU doesn't publish an official breakdown of the DCAT. Past takers report English and reading comprehension, mathematics, science and mental ability, so this plan covers all four. Count back 12 weeks from your sitting — for AY 2027–28, sittings run from 5 September to 11 December 2026 (see the DLSU DCAT pillar guide).

Time budget

  • 1.5 hours per weekday × 5 = 7.5 hours
  • 4 hours each weekend day × 2 = 8 hours
  • About 15 hours a week, roughly 180 hours in total

Week by week

WeekFocus
1Timed diagnostic across all four areas; list your gaps
2Math: algebra; English grammar
3Math: word problems; introduction to mental-ability patterns
4Science: biology and earth science
5Full timed practice set, then fix your weakest topics
6Math: trigonometry and geometry; mental ability: figure analogies
7Science: chemistry and physics
8English vocabulary and reading passages
9Single-area timed sets (rotate all four)
10Mental ability: spatial reasoning and syllogisms; weak-topic drilling
11Full practice set under test-day conditions (on screen too, if you're sitting online)
12Light review, one last timed set, rest

Throughout: read one English editorial a day.
