Figure analogies
Identify visual transformation A→B; apply to C. Common: rotation, reflection, element addition/removal, colour change.
Number series
Compute differences. Common patterns: arithmetic, geometric, differences-of-differences, alternating, squares/cubes.
Letter series
Convert letters to alphabet positions. Find pattern in positions. Memorise A-N.
Figure series
4-5 figures in sequence; pick the next. Trace one element through the sequence at a time.
Classification
Find most specific shared category. Often broader category mismatches.
Spatial reasoning
- 2D rotation
- 3D paper folding
- Mirror image identification
- Pattern stacking
Practice with physical paper for 3D folding.
Logical syllogisms
- "All A are B" / "Some A are B" / "No A are B"
- Conditional: contrapositive (valid), inverse + converse (invalid)
Venn diagrams solve most syllogisms quickly.
