How PRC rates the ECE board exam
RA 9292 (Electronics Engineering Law) requires at least 70% in each subject.
If you pass the majority of subjects and the rest are between 60% and 69%, you may take one removal exam for them. Weights (20/20/30/30) follow PRC's October 2026 programme.

What is the ECE board passing rule?
At least 70% in every subject (RA 9292, Section 16) — a high average doesn't make up for a subject under 70%.
What is the removal exam?
If you pass the majority of subjects and score 60–69% in the rest, you may take one removal exam for those subjects. Failing the removal exam means failing the whole exam. The removal fee is ₱450.
How is the ECE board exam weighted?
Two days on paper: Mathematics 20% and Electronics Engineering 30% on day 1; General Engineering and Applied Sciences 20% and Electronic Systems and Technologies 30% on day 2. The weighted rating matters less than the 70%-per-subject rule.
Is the ECT exam different?
Yes. The Electronics Technician exam is a separate one-day, one-paper exam (technical subjects plus laws and ethics) with its own ₱600 fee.
When is the next ECE board exam?
17–18 October 2026, with the ECT exam on 19 October; filing closed on 17 September and PRC targets releasing results on 23 October 2026. In March 2026, 61.62% of ECE examinees passed.
