Professional License

PRC-issued license to practice a regulated profession; renewable every 3 years.

A Professional License in PHL is the PRC-issued credential authorising practice of a regulated profession (CPA, RN, LPT, RCE, etc.).

Components:

  • PRC ID (physical card)
  • Date of registration
  • Profession code
  • Validity period (3 years)
  • CPD compliance status

To obtain:

1. Pass PRC board licensure exam

2. Pay registration fees

3. Submit oath-taking requirements

4. Attend mass oath-taking

5. Receive PRC ID + license

To maintain:

  • CPD compliance (15-45 units per profession + cycle)
  • Pay renewal fees every 3 years
  • No pending administrative cases

What it means for you:

  • Required for any practice of regulated profession
  • Lapse = inability to legally practice
  • Multiple licenses possible (e.g., CPA + LPT + Lawyer)
  • Licensed practice opens government + private employment
  • Major identification accepted in most PHL transactions
