Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is the continuing-education system for PRC-licensed professionals, set by RA 10912 (the CPD Act of 2016) and PRC's implementing rules. It's meant to keep professionals current in their field.
Where CPD units come from:
- Seminars, conferences and workshops by PRC-accredited CPD providers
- Accredited online programs
- Self-directed learning and professional work that your profession's CPD Council recognizes
What it means for you:
- The number of units and how they're applied depend on your profession's CPD Council and PRC's current rules — these have changed several times, so check prc.gov.ph before you renew
- Only use PRC-accredited providers and keep your certificates
- Plan units across the 3-year license cycle instead of rushing before renewal
