CSC Eligibility

The civil service qualification needed for most permanent government posts — earned through the CSE, a PRC board or bar exam (RA 1080), or other CSC-recognized routes.

Civil service eligibility is the qualification most permanent Philippine government posts require. It doesn't expire once earned.

Ways to get it:

1. Career Service Exam — Professional or Subprofessional level

2. RA 1080 — passing a PRC board exam or the bar

3. PD 907 — honor graduates, under CSC rules

4. Other special eligibilities recognized by the CSC for specific positions

Levels:

  • First level: clerical and support posts (Subprofessional eligibility or higher)
  • Second level: technical and professional posts (Professional eligibility, RA 1080 and similar)

  • Check the eligibility each job posting requires — some posts need a specific license
  • CSE ratings can be checked online through the CSC
  • You can hold more than one eligibility
