Gulf countries (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar)

• Usually a job offer first, then an employer-sponsored work visa
• Engineers typically register with the local engineering body (for example the Saudi Council of Engineers), which may involve credential verification and an exam
• Common sectors: utilities, oil and gas, petrochemicals, building projects

Singapore

• The employer applies for your work pass
• Professional Engineer registration with Singapore's PE Board is needed only for certain regulated work; electrical installation work has its own licensing

Australia

• Skilled migration starts with a skills assessment by Engineers Australia
• Visa rules change, so check the Department of Home Affairs site

Canada

• Engineering is regulated by provinces; P.Eng. licensure goes through the provincial regulator
• Many engineers immigrate first, then pursue licensure
