REE Electrical Engineer Career Value: PH and Overseas
RA 7920 (the New Electrical Engineering Law) regulates the practice of electrical engineering. The REE license lets you practice as a registered electrical engineer, including work the law reserves for licensed engineers such as signing electrical plans within its scope.
Where licensed REEs work
- Utilities: distribution utilities, electric cooperatives, transmission and generation companies
- Construction: electrical project engineering
- Design and consulting: building and industrial electrical design
- Industrial plants: plant electrical engineering and maintenance
- Real estate developers: building services and project engineering
- Government: agencies such as DOE and DPWH, and government corporations
Private-sector pay varies widely by employer, city and role, so compare actual job postings. Government engineering posts are paid by salary grade; see the government engineer salary guide for 2026 figures.
Overseas
Gulf employers hire many Filipino electrical engineers for utilities, oil and gas and building projects, and Australia, Canada and Singapore have their own assessment routes. See the REE overseas guide.
