PhLE Practice of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Laws Review
Two parts of the PhLE come together here:
- Practice of Pharmacy (17.5%): Day 1, 1:30–3:30 PM, covering dispensing, community and hospital practice, and pharmaceutical care
- Jurisprudence and Ethics: examined with Pharmaceutics (17.5%) on Day 2, per PRC's October 2026 program
Practice of Pharmacy
Community pharmacy: prescription handling and dispensing, OTC counseling, pharmaceutical care.
Hospital pharmacy: drug distribution systems (unit dose, ward stock), drug information services, formulary management.
Regulatory practice: the FDA's role, product registration (Certificate of Product Registration), recalls and establishment licensing.
Pharmacy laws
- RA 10918 (Philippine Pharmacy Act, 2016): scope of practice, licensure, CPD, penalties
- RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, 2002): drug schedules, dispensing rules for dangerous drugs, pharmacy responsibilities
- RA 6675 (Generics Act, 1988), as amended by RA 9502 (Cheaper Medicines Act, 2008): generic prescribing and substitution
- RA 9711 (FDA Act of 2009)
- RA 7394 (Consumer Act)
- The pharmacist's code of ethics
