MSU-SASE Practice Test Strategy: Schedule and Review

MSU doesn't publish the SASE's sections, item count or time limits. That's a reason to practise under time pressure, not a reason to skip it: timed practice builds the speed and stamina any entrance test needs.

A 12-week schedule

WeekFull practice testSingle-area timed set
11 (diagnostic)—
4—Your weakest area
61—
9—Math (or your weakest area)
101—
121 (exam conditions)—

Building a practice test

Since there's no official format, build each full practice test from reviewer books or question sets to cover English, reading, mathematics, science and reasoning, and run it for about three hours in one sitting. What matters is doing it timed, without breaks for your phone, and reviewing it properly.

Scoring yourself honestly

  • Stop when your timer ends.
  • Mark strictly against the answer key.
  • Record your score for each area, not just the total.
  • MSU doesn't publish a rule on deductions for wrong answers, so read the test instructions on the day. In practice, track your blanks — lots of blanks usually means a pacing problem.

After each test

Within 24 hours: list the topic behind every wrong answer and note why you missed it (concept, careless slip, or time).

The next week: spend about half your study time on your weakest area and a third on the second-weakest.

Rehearse test day

For your week-12 test, copy the real day: the start time on your permit, the same breakfast, only what you'll bring (your requirements, pencils, ID), and ideally a trial run of the trip to your test centre. Remember that the ₱300 testing fee is paid at the test centre at least two days before the exam.
