FEU-CAT: What the FEU College Admissions Test Covers

The FEU College Admissions Test (FEU-CAT) is Far Eastern University's entrance test for first-year applicants. This overview sums up what's official and what isn't. The FEU-CAT pillar guide has the full prep plan.

What FEU publishes

• The name: FEU College Admissions Test (FEU-CAT). Passing it is a qualification for freshman admission.
• The fee: ₱500, waivable for public-school applicants in the Top 10 of their Grade 11 batch (with a principal's certification).
• Scheduling: you book your own slot through the Exam Booking page in FEU's admissions portal. Regional testing centres serve applicants outside Metro Manila.
• Results: available when you log in about two weeks after your test.

What FEU doesn't publish

• The sections, number of items or time limit
• Applicant numbers or admission rates
• Programme cutoffs

Figures like "150 items in 3 hours" or "28% admission rate" online are guesses — and different sites give different numbers.

What past takers report

Past takers describe a multiple-choice aptitude test covering English, mathematics, science and mental ability. That's a reasonable scope to prepare for:

• English: grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion, reading passages
• Mathematics: algebra, geometry, basic trigonometry, statistics — practise without a calculator unless told otherwise
• Science: biology, chemistry, physics, earth science at Grade 7–10 level
• Mental ability: series, analogies, spatial reasoning, simple logic
