FEUCAT 2026: The Complete Guide for Filipino Applicants

The Far Eastern University College Admission Test draws about 15,000 applicants per cycle for slots across FEU Manila + FEU Alabang + FEU Diliman + FEU Tech (formerly East Asia College). FEU's strongest programmes are in business + accountancy + tourism + nursing — historically among the top producers of CPAs + nurses in the country.

1. What the FEUCAT tests

The FEUCAT is a 4-section paper exam, ~3 hours total:

1. English Proficiency — grammar, vocabulary, comprehension

3. Filipino Proficiency — gramatika, talasalitaan, pagbasa
4. Aptitude — abstract reasoning, logical pattern recognition

Multiple choice with 4 options. ~120 items total.

The FEUCAT is shorter + lighter than UPCAT or DLSUCET. Math doesn't extend to trigonometry; English emphasis is on usage rather than literary analysis. Most prep cycles need fewer dedicated weeks than UPCAT — 6–8 weeks of focused practice typically suffices.

2. Cutoff bands by programme

FEU doesn't publish exact FEUCAT cutoffs. Observed admissions patterns:

FEU's strongest reputation is in BS Accountancy — the programme consistently lands in the top 5 nationally for CPALE pass rates. BS Nursing similarly produces high NLE pass rates. Both programmes are competitive at FEUCAT level.

3. The 60-day prep plan

Calibrated for SHS graduates running parallel UPCAT + DLSUCET + USTET prep. The FEUCAT-specific lift is small.

Weeks 1–2: Diagnose

Run one full FEUCAT-format mock (~120 items, 3 hours). Most takers score 65–75 cold (the pool is friendlier than UPCAT). Identify weak sections.

Weeks 3–6: Focused drill

Most common weak pairing: Filipino Proficiency (rarely reviewed by SHS students after junior year) + Aptitude (abstract reasoning).

• Mon/Wed/Fri (90 min): Filipino drill (gramatika rules + talasalitaan)
• Tue/Thu (90 min): Aptitude (figure analogies + pattern recognition)
• Saturday (3 hrs): Mixed mock
• Sunday: Off

Weeks 7–8: Mock + final

Two full mocks per week. Wednesday wrong-answer review. Last 3 days before exam: rest.

4. Financial aid

FEU has a competitive aid system:

• Tan Yan Kee Scholarship: Full tuition + monthly stipend for top admits with demonstrated need
• Foundation merit scholarships: Partial-to-full tuition based on GPA + entrance exam score
• Athletic scholarships: UAAP-active programmes offer full + partial tuition

FEU annual tuition + fees: ~₱100,000–₱150,000 depending on programme (lower than DLSU/ADMU, higher than PUP/UP).

5. FEUCAT vs UPCAT/DLSUCET/ACET/USTET

The cheapest test in the cluster to prepare for, and the lowest-effort additional application if you're already prepping for UPCAT.

If you're applying for BS Accountancy or BS Nursing, FEUCAT is a should-take. The FEU programme is highly regarded in industry, and the application effort is small relative to other CET-cluster exams.

6. What it costs

FEUCAT application: ~₱500–₱700. Cheapest of the major private-university entrance exams.

Most takers self-study using past papers + UPCAT/DLSUCET review materials (which cover most of the FEUCAT scope). Paid review centres add little leverage given the lighter exam.
