Getting Into CEU Dentistry: What to Know Before You Apply
Centro Escolar University's dentistry programme is one of the reasons many students look at CEU. This post covers how admission works and how to prepare. It's part of the CEU pillar guide.
Dentistry has its own admission test
CEU says some programmes — including Dentistry — run their own admission tests, in addition to CEU's general first-year requirements (Form 138 / Grade 12 report card or PEPT/ALS result, good moral certificate, birth certificate, 2x2 photo). CEU doesn't publish the content, scoring or cutoff of the dentistry test, so check the current requirements directly with CEU's School of Dentistry or Admissions office.
How to prepare
- Biology: cells, genetics, human anatomy and physiology basics
- Chemistry: atomic structure, bonding, reactions, acids and bases, basic organic chemistry
- Math and English: the general college-readiness base every entrance test uses
- Reasoning: series, analogies and spatial reasoning — useful for most aptitude-style tests
Questions to ask before you apply
- What exactly does the dentistry admission test cover, and when is it held?
- How long is the programme, and what are the clinical requirements?
- What's the full cost, including instruments and clinic fees, not just tuition?
- What scholarships or financial aid are available for dentistry students?
- After graduating, you'll need to pass the PRC board exam for dentists to practise — how does the programme prepare you?
Is dentistry right for you?
It's a long, demanding and expensive course with a lot of hands-on clinical work. It suits students who genuinely want to work with patients in dentistry — not just "any health course". Talk to practising dentists or current students if you can.
