CEUET 2026: The Complete Guide for Filipino Applicants

The Centro Escolar University Entrance Test draws about 10,000 applicants per cycle for slots across CEU Manila + CEU Makati + CEU Malolos. CEU is one of the country's top producers of dentists, optometrists, and pharmacists — three of its programmes consistently land in the top 5 nationally for PRC pass rates.

This guide covers the exam format, programme cutoffs, CEU's healthcare advantage, financial aid, and a 60-day prep plan.

For 2026: CEU's published schedule typically runs CEUET in August–September 2026 with rolling results. Application opens via the Admissions portal in June 2026. Verify on ceu.edu.ph.

1. What the CEUET tests

The CEUET is a 4-section paper exam, ~3 hours total:

  1. English Proficiency — grammar, vocabulary, comprehension
  2. Mathematics — algebra, geometry, basic statistics
  3. Filipino Proficiency — gramatika, talasalitaan, pagbasa
  4. Science — biology, chemistry, physics fundamentals

Multiple choice with 4 options. ~120 items total.

The CEUET emphasizes Science more than other private-uni CETs because of CEU's strong healthcare-programme orientation. Pre-Med + Pre-Dental + Pre-Pharmacy applicants need to score 75+ percentile on Science specifically.

2. Cutoff bands by programme

CEU doesn't publish exact CEUET cutoffs. Observed admissions patterns:

Programme tierComposite bandExamples
Highly competitiveTop 5%DDM Doctor of Dental Medicine, BS Pharmacy, BS Optometry
CompetitiveTop 15%BS Medical Technology, BS Nursing, BS Psychology
Moderately competitiveTop 30%BS Business Administration, BS Education
Standard admissionTop 50%Several non-quota programmes

CEU's headline programmes are healthcare-track. The DDM (Dental Medicine) is among the top 3 in the country by PRC pass rate. Pharmacy + Optometry similarly produce strong PRC pass rates.

3. The 60-day prep plan

Calibrated for SHS graduates running parallel UPCAT prep. CEUET-specific lift is small.

Weeks 1–2: Diagnose

One full timed mock. Most takers score 65–75 cold. Identify weak sections.

Weeks 3–6: Focused drill

Most common weak pairing for healthcare-track applicants: Science depth + Filipino.

  • Mon/Wed/Fri (90 min): Science (focus on biology + chemistry, the heaviest tested topics)
  • Tue/Thu (90 min): Filipino (gramatika + talasalitaan)
  • Saturday (3 hrs): Mixed mock
  • Sunday: Off

For Science: focus on the biology + chemistry fundamentals that underpin Pre-Med + Pre-Dental + Pre-Pharmacy programmes. Cell biology, genetics, organic chemistry basics, and acid-base chemistry are high-yield.

Weeks 7–8: Mock + final

Two full mocks per week. Wednesday wrong-answer review.

4. Financial aid

CEU has a moderate aid system:

  • Academic merit scholarships: Top CEUET scorers get tuition discounts
  • Athletic scholarships: UAAP-active programmes offer partial-to-full tuition
  • Private foundation grants: CEAP-affiliated foundations support need-based admits

CEU annual tuition + fees: ~₱90,000–₱130,000 depending on programme (lower than DLSU/ADMU/UST).

5. CEUET's healthcare advantage

If you're targeting a healthcare profession (Dentistry, Pharmacy, Optometry, Medical Tech), CEUET is a strong path because:

  1. PRC pass rates rank consistently top 5 for dental + pharmacy + optometry programmes
  2. Industry placement networks in PH healthcare are dense at CEU
  3. Pre-clinical exposure in CEU programmes is heavier than at general universities
  4. Tuition is materially lower than DLSU/UST/ADMU healthcare programmes

For Pre-Med specifically, CEU's BS Medical Technology + BS Pharmacy are common feeders into PH medical schools (UP, UST, ASMPH).

6. CEUET vs UPCAT/DLSUCET/USTET

If you're applying for healthcare programmes, CEUET is a should-take in addition to UST. The exam scope is similar to FEUCAT but slightly Science-heavier.

7. What it costs

CEUET application: ~₱600. Free past papers + UPCAT/USTET reviewer materials cover most of the scope.

8. If you're rejected

Reasonable next steps:

  • Apply to UE, NU, AdU, AdMU, FEU as parallel options
  • Re-take CEUET next cycle
  • Consider CEU Makati or Malolos branches if you missed CEU Manila
