What the real LET covers

The Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) is administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) through the Board for Professional Teachers, twice a year. It is offered at two levels — Elementary (for BEED graduates) and Secondary (for BSED graduates) — and is taken over a single day for each level. Passing gives you a professional teacher licence and PRC ID, the requirement to teach in Philippine schools.

Each area is a multiple-choice test of roughly 150 items. Elementary examinees take General and Professional Education only; Secondary examinees add a Field of Specialization in their major.

Passing score

You need a weighted general average of 75%, with no subtest rating below 50%. A strong showing in one area cannot fully rescue a very weak one, so balanced preparation across all components matters.

A study plan that works
