Date formats you'll see on Philippine forms and documents:
MM/DD/YYYY (month first):
- 04/27/2026 = 27 April 2026
DD Month YYYY or Month DD, YYYY (written out):
- 27 April 2026 or April 27, 2026
ISO 8601 (YYYY-MM-DD):
- 2026-04-27
Common confusion:
- DD/MM/YYYY (day first) is also used by some offices and foreign documents, so 04/05/2026 could mean 4 May or 5 April
What it means for you:
- Follow the format printed on each form — PRC, CSC, BIR and other forms may differ
- Writing the month in words avoids mistakes when a form allows it
- Double-check dates copied from foreign documents
