REE Power Systems and Machines Review (EE Professional, 45%)
Power systems and machine analysis are the core of EE Professional Subjects, the heaviest REE subject at 45%. From September 2026 it runs on Day 1, 1–7 PM. You pass with a 70% general weighted average and no subject below 50% (RA 7920).

Circuit analysis and three-phase systems
- Network theorems, mesh and nodal analysis, phasors and power, resonance

- Steam, gas, hydro, solar and wind plants; capacity and load factors
- Line parameters; short, medium and long line models; regulation and efficiency; reactive compensation
- Radial and loop distribution; distribution transformers; service entrance
Faults and stability
- Sequence impedances; three-phase and unsymmetrical faults (SLG, LL, LLG)
- Steady-state and transient stability; equal-area criterion
Machine analysis
- Synchronous: armature reaction, regulation, power-angle curves
- Induction: equivalent circuit, slip, torque, speed control
- DC: armature reaction, commutation, characteristics
- Power factor correction: capacitor sizing, synchronous condensers
