ECE Board Exam: Format, Subjects and Passing Rule
The Electronics Engineers Licensure Examination (ECE board) is PRC's licensure exam for electronics engineers under RA 9292. It runs twice a year; the next one is on October 17–18, 2026.
The format
Four subjects over two days, paper-based, per PRC's October 2026 program:

The passing rule
You must score at least 70% in each subject (RA 9292, Sec. 16). If you pass a majority of subjects and score 60–69% in the rest, you get one removal exam in those subjects; failing it means failing the whole exam.
Recent pass rates
PRC's last three ECE results: 45.39% (April 2025), 44.85% (October 2025) and 61.62% (March 2026).
Key topics
Mathematics: algebra, trigonometry, analytic geometry, calculus, differential equations, complex numbers, probability and statistics.
GEAS: physics, chemistry, engineering economics, engineering management and materials.
Electronics Engineering: circuit theory, electronic devices, amplifiers and op-amps, digital electronics, power electronics.
EST: analog and digital communications, networks, microwave and satellite, fiber optics, broadcasting, and related systems.
The ECT exam
The Electronics Technicians (ECT) exam is a separate one-day, one-paper exam, held the day after the ECE board. It is a different license.
