PMAEE 2026: Philippine Military Academy Entrance Exam Overview

The Philippine Military Academy Entrance Examination (PMAEE) is the most rigorous military entrance exam in PHL — gateway to PMA cadetship for AFP officer commissioning.

What PMAEE tests

PMAEE format (administered by AFP-PMA Recruitment Office):

  1. Mental Aptitude — verbal + quantitative reasoning, abstract patterns
  2. English Proficiency — grammar, vocabulary, comprehension
  3. Mathematics — SHS-level math (algebra, geometry, basic trig)
  4. Science — biology, chemistry, physics, earth science
  5. General Information — Constitution, AFP knowledge, current events

Plus separate physical fitness test, medical examination, neuropsychiatric examination, background investigation, and personal interview.

Total ~250-300 items in the written portion. ~4-5 hours.

Pass criteria

PMAEE doesn't have a fixed published cutoff. The AFP takes the top ~250-300 candidates per cycle out of 5,000-7,000 applicants for cadetship.

Acceptance rate: ~4-6%.
