CSE Sub-Pro Passing Rate: Results by Sitting

The CSC publishes the passing rate for each level after every sitting. For the Subprofessional level, recent rates have been 12.5–17%, usually a little lower than the Professional level.

The August 9, 2026 sitting was suspended in habagat-hit areas (all NCR testing centers; Batangas, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal; Baguio, La Trinidad and Abra). Results for the areas that did test are due on or before October 12, 2026.

Sub-Pro vs Pro

Sub-Pro has one fewer area and no Analytical Ability, but it has not been the easier pass. The bar is the same 80.00 general rating for both levels.

Why so few pass

The CSC doesn't publish why examinees fail, but the structure of the exam explains a lot:

• 80.00 is a high bar. There's no rounding and no rechecking, so 79.99 fails.
• Four different skills. Verbal (in English and Filipino), Numerical without a calculator, Clerical speed and accuracy, and General Information all count.
• Time pressure. 145 scored items in 2 hours 40 minutes leaves little room for slow reading.

What to do about it

• Cover all four areas. Don't leave General Information for the last week; its official scope (the Constitution, RA 6713, peace and human rights, environment) is short enough to memorize.
• Drill Numerical by hand. Daily short sets of operations, percentages and word problems, no calculator.
• Take full timed practice tests. At least three before exam day, under real conditions.
• Read daily in English and Filipino. It helps Verbal and spelling at the same time.
