Registered Electrical Engineer Licensure Examination — a month-by-month study plan and how to approach each subject.
The exam in brief
Two days, paper-based: Engineering Sciences and Allied Subjects (30%) and Electrical Engineering Professional Subjects (45%) on Day 1, then Mathematics (25%) on Day 2 — the order PRC uses from September 2026. Registered Master Electricians take a separate one-day exam. A 70% general weighted average with no subject below 50%. 39–61% passed in the last four sittings.

Preparation time, passing rule and the next exam date
How long should I prepare for the REE?
Most reviewees plan for three to six months, depending on how recently they finished their degree. Map every subject first, then give more weeks to the heaviest and weakest subjects.
How do you pass the REE?
A 70% general weighted average with no subject below 50%. 39–61% passed in the last four sittings.
When is the next REE?
The last REE was held on 5–6 September 2026. The next one is expected in April 2027 but hasn't been announced by PRC yet. The exam ran in April in both 2025 and 2026. PRC has not published its 2027 exam schedule yet.
