The exam in brief
150 multiple-choice test items plus a 20-item personal-data questionnaire, in 3 hours 10 minutes. It covers Verbal Ability (English and Filipino), Numerical Ability, Analytical Ability and General Information (the Constitution, RA 6713, peace and human rights, environment). CSC doesn't publish item counts per area. A general rating of at least 80.00. Results are final, with no rechecking or rounding. 14–17% of Professional examinees passed in each sitting from 2024 to March 2026.

Month-by-month CSE Professional plan
Weeks 1–2: Diagnostic
Four areas, 150 scored items
- Take a full timed practice test: 3 hours 10 minutes
- Start a daily General Information habit: the Constitution and RA 6713
- List your weakest of Verbal, Numerical and Analytical
Weeks 3–6: Verbal and numerical
English and Filipino, and math without a calculator
- Daily grammar, vocabulary and reading drills in both languages
- Fractions, percentages and word problems by hand
- Build speed on number series
Weeks 7–9: Analytical and General Information
Analytical Ability is in Professional only
- Drill analogies, assumptions, conclusions and data interpretation
- Review peace and human rights, and environment topics
- Mix all four areas in timed sets
Final 2 weeks: Full practice tests
80.00 to pass, no rounding
- Sit two full timed practice tests
- Review only your weakest area
- Check your school assignment and bring the required ID

How long should I prepare for the CSE Professional?
Most takers plan for 8–12 weeks of steady review, longer if the fundamentals are rusty. What matters more than the number of weeks is a daily slot you keep and regular timed practice.
How do you pass the CSE Professional?
A general rating of at least 80.00. Results are final, with no rechecking or rounding. 14–17% of Professional examinees passed in each sitting from 2024 to March 2026.
When is the next CSE Professional?
The next CSE Professional sitting is on 14 March 2027. Applications open on 2 November 2026, first come, first served. CSC targets results by 11 May 2027.
