Common questions about preparing for this exam
Five to six months. ME runs three days — Math + Engineering Sciences, Power Plants + Industrial, and Machine Design. Power Plants is the heaviest applied subject; Machine Design is where most takers lose pace.
PRC requires a general weighted average of 70% with no subject below 50%. Machine Design has historically the highest failure rate — drill machine elements (bearings, shafts, gears, springs) daily in the final stretch.
PRC scheduled the August cycle ME exam for August 7, 2026. The February cycle has already passed. Application opens through online.prc.gov.ph six to eight weeks before each sitting.
