LET General Education review — the first test of the day
General Education opens the LET. For LET Secondary it's 150 items in 2 hours and counts for 20% of your rating; you also need at least 50% in it. It rewards broad, steady review more than depth in any one area.
The official rules
LET Secondary is one day, paper-based: General Education (150 items, 2 hours, 20%), Professional Education (150 items, 3 hours, 40%) and your Specialization (3.5 hours, 40%). You pass with a 75% general average and no test below 50%. PRC's table of specifications draws the Gen Ed items from ten areas: Purposive Communication, Malayuning Komunikasyon, Readings in Philippine History, the Life and Works of Rizal, the Contemporary World, Art Appreciation, Science and Technology, Mathematics, Ethics, and Understanding the Self. (For LET Elementary, Gen Ed is 40% of the rating.)
The last LET Secondary was held on 20 September 2026. The next one is expected in March 2027 but hasn't been announced by PRC yet. LET ran in March and September in 2025 and 2026. PRC has not published its 2027 exam schedule yet.

Where students lose points
Gen Ed covers many areas at once, and it's easy to skip the ones you think you already know. Because every test needs at least 50%, a neglected area can hurt more than you expect.
How to study it
- 1Rotate through every Gen Ed area each week instead of finishing one before starting the next
- 2Start with the area you're weakest in
- 3Answer practice questions after each chapter and read every explanation
- 4Keep an error log and redo those questions before exam day
- 5Practice with a timer so the 2-hour limit feels familiar
