How to become a police officer in the Philippines
The path: Bachelor's degree → NAPOLCOM PNP Entrance Exam → PNP recruitment → Patrolman/Patrolwoman

Earn a bachelor's degree
Any course qualifies for the entrance exam.

Register through NAPOLCOM's online scheduling system, then sit the exam.

Apply to PNP recruitment
Recruitment includes physical, medical and psychological screening.

Train and serve
New Patrolmen and Patrolwomen complete their training before assignment. The officer route is the PNPA cadetship instead.
About the NAPOLCOM PNP Entrance Exam
- A 3-hour, pen-and-paper multiple-choice test: General Information and Uprightness (Constitution, PNP laws, criminal justice system), Verbal, Quantitative and Logical Reasoning.
- The pass mark is 70%. Passing gives the eligibility needed for appointment as Patrolman/Patrolwoman.
- NAPOLCOM's 2026 exams are on 19 April (24.26% passed) and 18 October 2026. The 2027 dates are not yet announced.
