How to become a pharmacist in the Philippines

The path: BS Pharmacy + internship → Pharmacist Licensure Exam (PhLE) → PRC registration

Step-by-step path

    Earn your BS Pharmacy

    Pharmaceutics, pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacy practice.

    Complete your internship

    1,200 hours across the practice settings PRC lists.

  3. 3

    Pass the PhLE

    Six subjects over two days.

  4. 4

    Register and start practice

    Community, hospital, regulatory or industrial pharmacy. PRC IDs are renewed every three years, and renewal requires continuing professional development (CPD) credits under RA 10912.

About the Pharmacist Licensure Exam (PhLE)

  • Two days, paper-based, six subjects: Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy/Biochemistry, Practice of Pharmacy, Pharmacology-Pharmacokinetics, Pharmaceutics (incl. Jurisprudence and Ethics) and Quality Control/Quality Assurance.
  • You pass with a 75% general weighted average and no subject below 50%.
  • PRC's 2026 schedule has the PhLE on 18–19 April and 15–16 October 2026 (October results targeted for 21 October).
