How to become a criminologist in the Philippines

    Earn your BS Criminology

    Criminal law, law enforcement, investigation, forensic science and corrections.

    Pass the CLE

    Six subjects over three days, twice a year.

    Register with PRC

    You become a Registered Criminologist.

    Choose your service

    The PNP, BJMP, BFP, NBI, private security or teaching. PRC IDs are renewed every three years, and renewal requires continuing professional development (CPD) credits under RA 10912.

About the Criminologist Licensure Exam (CLE)

  • Three days, paper-based, six subjects: Criminal Law and Jurisprudence (20%), Law Enforcement Administration (15%), Crime Detection and Investigation (20%), Forensic Science (15%), Criminology (20%) and Correctional Administration (10%).
  • You pass with a 75% weighted average and no subject below 60%. The fee is ₱900.
  • PRC held the 2026 CLE on 4–6 February (66.00% passed) and 1–3 August (57.56%). The next is expected around February 2027 — PRC has not yet published its 2027 exam schedule.
