NAPOLCOM PNP Entrance Exam 2026: Complete Preparation Guide

What is the NAPOLCOM PNPE?
The NAPOLCOM PNP Entrance Examination (PNPE) is the eligibility exam you need for appointment as a Patrolman or Patrolwoman in the Philippine National Police (the rank once called PO1). NAPOLCOM runs it twice a year, in April and October, and each sitting draws roughly 38,000 to 41,000 takers.
2026 Schedule
- 19 April 2026 — held. Results came out on 24 June 2026: 9,224 of 38,022 passed (24.26%).
- 18 October 2026 — the second 2026 sitting. Online registration ran 17–21 August 2026 and has closed.
- 2027 — NAPOLCOM usually holds the first sitting of the year in April. The 2027 date is not yet announced.
Results usually come out about two months after the exam (the October 2025 results were released on 19 December 2025). Check NAPOLCOM and its regional office pages for official announcements.
Who Can Take It
Civilian applicants must be 21 to 30 years old on the day of the exam and hold a bachelor's degree. The fee is ₱400. Registration goes through NAPOLCOM's online scheduling system, followed by processing at the regional office.
Exam Structure
The PNPE is a 3-hour, pen-and-paper, multiple-choice test (8:00–11:00 AM) covering four areas:
- General Information / Uprightness — Philippine Constitution, PNP laws, the criminal justice system, social awareness and value judgement, values.
- Verbal Reasoning — vocabulary (synonyms, antonyms), paragraph organization, reading comprehension, correct usage.
- Quantitative Reasoning — percentages, fractions, number series, problem solving and bar graph interpretation.
- Logical Reasoning — verbal and non-verbal.
There's no separate "police subjects" test; PNP laws sit inside General Information. NAPOLCOM doesn't publish the number of items or a per-area split. The passing score is 70%. Pass rates in recent sittings: 26.56% (April 2025), 35.33% (October 2025) and 24.26% (April 2026).
Passing the exam is one step. Appointment to the PNP also has its own requirements, including the height standard under RA 11549 (1.57 m for men, 1.52 m for women).
10-Week Review Plan
Weeks 1–2: a self-check across all four areas; identify your weakest one and build the calendar around it. Weeks 3–6: rotate the four areas daily (30–45 min each). Give General Information a longer block, because the Constitution and PNP laws (RA 6975, RA 8551, RA 11200) are content you have to learn rather than reason out. Weeks 7–8: timed practice sets that mix all four areas. Weeks 9–10: full-length timed practice under 3-hour conditions; light recall only in the last 3 days.
