PRC LERIS Application for Engineering Boards: 2026 Walkthrough

Filing your PRC LERIS engineering application is the most boring part of the licensure journey. It's also where avoidable mistakes cost candidates their seat — a wrong document, a mismatched name spelling, a missed deadline. PRC is strict about filing windows, and a paperwork problem three weeks before the exam can undo months of review.

This is the walkthrough for CELE, ME, ECE, and REE applicants on PRC's LERIS online system. We'll cover what to prepare, when to file, how the process runs, and the errors to avoid.

What LERIS Is and Why You Use It

LERIS stands for Licensure Examination and Registration Information System. It's PRC's online system for examination applications: you apply through LERIS, then submit your documents at a PRC Regional Office or Offsite Service Centre within the filing window.

The portal lives at online.prc.gov.ph. Bookmark it.

Documents You Need Before You Start

PRC's list of requirements differs slightly by board. Get everything ready before you open LERIS. For first-time takers, the 2026 lists ask for:

• All four boards — PSA birth certificate; PSA marriage contract (married female applicants); transcript of records with a scanned picture and the remark "For Board Examination Purposes".
• CELE — also a valid NBI clearance and two certificates of good moral character (from your barangay, church, school or employer).
• ME — also your diploma and a valid NBI clearance; the TOR must show your Special Order number unless not required.
• Repeaters — shorter lists (for example, NBI clearance and the marriage contract if applicable). Check the list for your board.

Names must match exactly across documents. If your TOR says "Juan Dela Cruz" but your NBI clearance says "Juan dela Cruz", sort out the discrepancy at the source before you file. The PSA birth certificate is the reference.

Step-by-Step LERIS Walkthrough

Step 1: Create Your LERIS Account

Go to online.prc.gov.ph and register. Use a personal email you check daily — not your school email — since PRC's notices come to it.

Step 2: Complete Your Profile

Fill in your full name (exactly as on your PSA birth certificate), birthdate, civil status, contact details and address, and upload your photo. Triple-check spelling — name corrections are a separate process.

Step 3: Select Your Examination

Choose the examination transaction and your board — Civil Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Electronics Engineers, or Registered Electrical Engineers — then the sitting and your testing centre.

Step 4: Pay the Examination Fee

The PRC fee is ₱900 for each of these boards (complete exam). A conditioned/removal exam is ₱450 for ECE and REE, and the Electronics Technicians exam is ₱600. Pay using the options LERIS shows you and keep your reference number.

Step 5: Submit Your Documents

Bring your documents to the PRC Regional Office or Offsite Service Centre within the filing window, following the schedule LERIS gives you. Bring every document on your board's list.

Step 6: Get Your Notice of Admission

Once your application is accepted, you'll get a Notice of Admission. Bring it on every exam day and follow the instructions printed on it.

Timing: When to File

Each sitting has a fixed filing window in PRC's schedule. If a deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, it moves to the next working day. Requests to extend must reach PRC's Licensure Office at least 15 days before the deadline, and late filing is allowed only under Commission Resolution No. 2092 (s. 2025).

The 2026 Filing Windows

• ME, 7–9 August 2026 — filing ran 8 May to 8 July 2026. The exam has been held.
• REE, 5–6 September 2026 — filing ran 5 June to 6 August 2026. The exam has been held.
• CELE, 26–27 September 2026 — filing ran 11 June to 12 August 2026.
• ECE, 17–18 October 2026 — filing ran 17 July to 17 September 2026 and has closed.

So windows opened about three months before each exam and closed about one to two months before it. PRC hasn't published its 2027 schedule yet; when it does, the dates will be on the PRC website. The next sittings are expected around February 2027 (ME), March 2027 (CELE), March or April 2027 (ECE) and April 2027 (REE) — none announced yet. File early in the window so there's time to fix document problems.

Common Errors That Cost Candidates Their Slot

Mismatched Names Across Documents

If your TOR says "Maria Santos" but your PSA birth certificate says "Maria Santos-Cruz", expect questions. The PSA birth certificate is the reference; other documents should match it.

Expired NBI Clearance

Where your board's list asks for an NBI clearance, it must be valid. Renew it first rather than filing with an expired one.

Wrong TOR Remark

The transcript must carry the remark "For Board Examination Purposes" and a scanned picture. Ask your registrar for it specifically.

Missing the Window

Filing windows close weeks before the exam. Mark the deadline the day PRC publishes the schedule.

Wrong Exam Centre Selection

Picking Manila when you live in Cebu means travelling for the exam. Check the centres listed for your sitting and choose carefully.

Exam Day

PRC's exam programmes tell you what to bring and what's banned. For the engineering boards: your Notice of Admission, pencils, one long brown envelope and one transparent plastic envelope, one non-programmable calculator from PRC's approved list, and packed food, medication and water in clear containers. Books, notes, printed formulas, phones, smart watches and bags are prohibited. Wear the required attire (a tucked-in white collared shirt or blouse without logos) and report before 6:30 AM on the first day.

After You Pass

Registration after passing is now online: recent PRC results releases ask for a screenshot of the system-generated registration form and a valid government ID. The initial registration fee is ₱1,050 for baccalaureate professions like engineering.

FAQ

Do I need Form 137 to file?

It isn't on PRC's 2026 requirement lists for these four boards. What you need is your transcript of records with the remark "For Board Examination Purposes", plus the other items on your board's list.

What if I'm a foreign-trained engineer?

Your requirements will differ from the standard list. Contact PRC early and allow extra time.

Can I change my exam centre after filing?

Ask PRC as early as possible — don't count on it. Pick carefully the first time.

What happens if I fail three times?

PRC's requirement list for Mechanical Engineers says that after three failures you must rest for one year before retaking. Check your own board's list for its rule.
