Criminology Board Review (CLE): The 6-Subject Rotation That Actually Works
How to balance Criminal Jurisprudence, Law Enforcement, Criminalistics, Corrections, Criminology Theory, and Criminal Sociology across a 12-week CLE review. Pass rate, cutoffs, and how to avoid the classic retake trap.

The CLE's Six-Subject Problem
Criminology Licensure Exam reviewers face six distinct subjects, each weighted 20%. No subject is more important than another — but each is mostly independent. Which means review scheduling matters more for CLE than for most other PRC boards.
The Six Subjects
- Criminal Jurisprudence and Procedure — Revised Penal Code, special laws, criminal procedure.
- Law Enforcement Administration — PNP organisation, Police Operational Procedures.
- Crime Detection and Investigation — investigative methods, crime scene management.
- Criminalistics — forensic science, ballistics, polygraphy, fingerprinting.
- Correctional Administration — BuCor, BJMP, probation, parole.
- Criminal Sociology — criminological theories, ethics, human behaviour.
The 12-Week Rotation
Rotate one subject per day, Monday through Saturday. Sunday = full-length mock or rest. Over 12 weeks that's about 12 review days per subject — enough to go deep without burning out. The volume advantage: each subject gets its own dedicated focus day rather than being half-studied across mixed sessions.
Weekly Template
- Mon: Criminal Jurisprudence
- Tue: Law Enforcement
- Wed: Crime Detection
- Thu: Criminalistics
- Fri: Correctional Administration
- Sat: Criminal Sociology
- Sun: Full-length mock (rotate which subject block to start with)
The Retaker Trap
Most CLE retakers we've seen failed because they skipped Correctional Administration or Criminal Sociology — the two subjects that feel 'easier' but carry the same 20% weight. If you failed last time, check the PRC breakdown. These two domains are retake red flags.
Passing Threshold
75% general average, no subject below 50%. That second condition matters: even one weak subject can disqualify you regardless of how strong the other five are. Balance over heroics.
Super Tutor's CLE Track
Our Criminology track pre-builds the six-subject rotation into the weekly plan. Daily drills stay focused on one subject; mocks rotate through all six.
