Frequently Asked Questions
How is the top-10 cutoff computed?
We average the 10th-place rating across the last 3 PRC cycles. PRC publishes the full top-10 list per cycle at prc.gov.ph. We don't try to predict individual placements — too noisy — but the 3-cycle band is reliable for 'am I in the conversation' signal.
Does my mock score predict my actual rating?
Roughly. Most reviewers score 2–4 percentage points HIGHER on the actual exam than their final-week mocks (familiar format, fresh adrenaline, no 'is this my last attempt?' anxiety). Top-10 candidates typically clear 90% on at least 2 mocks before exam day.
What separates a topnotcher from a regular passer?
Roughly 12–15 percentage points and 200+ extra hours of practice. Topnotchers are usually distinguished by their consistency on the weakest subject (rarely below 85%) rather than topping any one section.
Should I aim for top 10?
Topnotcher status is great for licensure jobs (especially CPA, Nursing, Engineering), and PRC publicises the top 10. But 'just passed' is the same legal licence. Don't pull the rope so hard you fail entirely — most failed reviewers were chasing topnotcher and missed coverage.
How often does PRC publish topnotcher results?
Every cycle, alongside the full results release. Some boards have 'top 20' rather than top 10. Check PRC's press release after your cycle's results.
