Why use this instead of randomly opening a PDF?
Reproducibility. Setting a seed means three classmates running the same seed get the same 25 questions — fair self-test, no cheating. Without a seed, every run is a fresh draw.
What pool size should I use?
Match it to your reviewer: set N to the number of items in your PDF or printed reviewer (or in the section you're drilling).
How big should the sample be?
Roughly 30–50 questions per study session. Bigger samples blur the signal — if you got 20/50 right, that's actionable; if you got 200/500 right, it's noise. Repeat with new seeds across sessions to cover the pool.
Does this generate the questions themselves?
No — only the numbers. You still need a numbered reviewer; the randomizer is for fair sampling out of it.
Can I export the list?
Use the Copy button to copy the full list to your clipboard, then paste it into Notes or a chat. To get the same set again later, turn on the seed and reuse the same number.
