Why use this instead of randomly opening a PDF?
Reproducibility. Setting a seed means three classmates running the same seed get the same 25 questions — fair self-test, no cheating. Without a seed, every run is a fresh draw.
What pool size should I use?
Match it to your reviewer. CSE Pro reviewers usually have ~500 items per subtest, LET ~1500 across all subtests, NLE ~600 per Nursing Practice. Set N to the actual numbered count in your PDF or printed reviewer.
How big should the sample be?
Roughly 30–50 questions per study session. Bigger samples blur the signal — if you got 20/50 right, that's actionable; if you got 200/500 right, it's noise. Repeat with new seeds across sessions to cover the pool.
Does this generate the questions themselves?
No — only the numbers. You still need a reviewer (or Super Tutor's actual question bank). The randomizer is for honest sampling out of a finite numbered pool.
