Sentence (Examination Result Term)

PRC term for the official ruling that you passed (or failed) a board exam.

"Sentence" in PRC context refers to the formal result statement issued after board exam grading. Common phrases:

  • "Sentence: Pass" — you passed
  • "Sentence: Failed" — you didn't pass

When sentence is issued:

  • Typically 4-8 weeks after exam date
  • Released via PRC website + posted at PRC offices
  • Topnotcher list released alongside

Post-pass steps:

1. Pay PRC registration fee

2. Submit oath-taking requirements

3. Attend mass oath-taking ceremony

4. Receive PRC ID (Professional Identification Card)

5. Begin practice as licensed professional

What it means for you:

  • Don't make career commitments until sentence is final
  • Failed sentence: review specific subject scores, plan retake strategy
