PRC board exam required to teach in PHL — Elementary or Secondary level.

LET (Licensure Exam for Teachers) is the PRC board exam for teaching credentials. Two tracks:

  • LET Elementary: For grades K-6 teaching
  • LET Secondary: For grades 7-12 teaching (specialised by major)

Exam structure:

  • General Education
  • Professional Education
  • Major Field (Secondary only — depends on subject specialisation)

Pass mark: 75% overall, no subject below 50%.

Pass rate: Historically ~30-40% (one of PHL's harder boards).

  • Required for both public (DepEd) + private school teaching
  • Held twice yearly (March and September)
  • Major-field specialisation matters for Secondary
