Credentials & Licensure

Barangay Clearance

Barangay-level clearance certifying good standing — required for many PHL applications.

Barangay Clearance is a certificate from your local barangay (smallest PHL government unit) confirming you're a resident in good standing — no pending criminal complaints at barangay level.

Required for:

  • Job applications (many employers require)
  • Business permit applications
  • Government job applications
  • Some loan applications
  • Marriage license application
  • Many other PHL transactions

How to get one:

  • Visit your barangay hall
  • Bring valid ID + proof of residence
  • Cost: ₱50-₱200 typical
  • Issued same-day usually
  • Validity: 6 months typical

What it means for you:

  • Easier to get than NBI clearance (faster + cheaper)
  • Required complement to NBI in many applications
  • Move addresses = update with new barangay
  • Some barangays have efficient online systems; others require in-person
