PRC Board Exam Application Process: Complete Guide
Every PRC licensure exam has a fixed filing window. If a document is missing or wrong when the window closes, you wait for the next sitting, which for many boards is months away. Here's the process.
Know your dates
PRC publishes its exam schedule for the whole year in advance (the 2026 schedule was posted in November 2025). Each exam has:
- a filing period that opens a few months before the exam
- a filing deadline, usually several weeks before the exam (for the October 2026 CPALE, filing closed on September 9; for the September 2026 LET, it closed on July 23)
- a target results date
PRC sometimes moves dates or adds testing centers by resolution, and bad weather has split exams in the past, so check prc.gov.ph and PRC's official social media pages regularly once you've applied. PRC hasn't published its 2027 schedule yet.
Apply through LERIS
PRC's online system is LERIS (Licensure Examination and Registration Information System), reached from prc.gov.ph.
- Create your LERIS account and complete your profile
- Choose the exam, the sitting and your preferred testing center
- Upload the documents asked for
- Pay the fee through one of the payment channels LERIS offers, and keep your reference number
- Book an appointment, if your application needs one, to have your documents checked
- Print your Notice of Admission when it's issued
Documents
Each board has its own list, so download your exam's List of Requirements from the PRC website. The usual items:
Personal documents
- PSA-issued birth certificate
- PSA-issued marriage certificate, for married women using their married name
- Recent ID photos in PRC's required format
- Valid government-issued ID
School documents
- Transcript of records with the scanned picture and the remark "For Board Examination Purposes," or as your board requires
- Diploma, where required
- Certificates your profession needs, such as a certificate of related learning experience (nursing), internship (pharmacy) or practical experience
Board-specific examples
- LET: an education degree, or a non-education degree plus the required units in professional education
- Nursing, midwifery, pharmacy: proof of completed clinical or internship hours
- CPALE: a BS Accountancy degree
Fees
From PRC's Citizen's Charter:

The Dentist Licensure Exam is ₱1,300. Budget separately for PSA documents, photos and transport.
Common mistakes
Missing PSA documents
PRC wants PSA-issued certificates, not copies from the local civil registrar. Order them before the filing window opens.
Transcript delays
Schools can take weeks to release a transcript, especially near graduation. Request it early and check the remarks and your degree name.
Photo specifications
PRC is strict about photo size, background and attire. Follow the format on the PRC website exactly.
Payment problems
Keep proof of payment and the reference number until your application is accepted.
Choosing a testing center late
Popular centers fill up. Apply early in the filing period if you want a specific one.
Exam day
Read your exam's official program on the PRC website: it lists the schedule per subject, reporting times and what you may bring.
Usually bring:
- Your Notice of Admission
- Valid ID
- Pencils and ballpens as the program specifies
- An allowed calculator, if your exam permits one (some exams ban specific models, so check)
- Water and a light snack
Leave at home anything the program bans, especially phones and other electronic devices, notes and books.
After the exam
- Results are posted on prc.gov.ph. Timing varies a lot by board: some come out within a week, while the LET usually takes around two months
- Registration: passers register online and pay the registration fee to get their Certificate of Registration and professional ID
- Oath-taking: passers take their oath as new professionals
