How to become a registered nurse in the Philippines
The path: BSN → Nurse Licensure Exam (NLE) → PRC registration

Earn your BSN
Four years of nursing coursework and hospital duty.

Pass the NLE
Five Nursing Practice tests over two days at a PRC testing center.

Register with PRC
Complete your registration and oath-taking to receive your PRC ID.

Start practicing
Government and private hospitals, community health, or further training. PRC IDs are renewed every three years, and renewal requires continuing professional development (CPD) credits under RA 10912.
About the Nurse Licensure Exam (NLE)
- Five Nursing Practice tests (NP I–V), 100 items and two hours each, over two days, paper-based.
- You pass with a general average of at least 75% and no NP below 60%. Averaging 75% with one NP below 60% means retaking only that NP.
- PRC held the 2026 NLE on 26–27 February and 29–30 August (August results: 76.69% passed). PRC has not yet published its 2027 exam schedule.
