What is the NLE?
The Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination — most people just call it the NLE — is the PRC board exam for nursing graduates. It runs twice a year (May and November), gets handled by the Board of Nursing, and pulls in around 90,000 examinees annually. If you're a nursing grad, this is the test that decides whether you practice.
NLE 2026 Schedule
The 2026 cycles land in May and November. Applications open about three months before each one. Confirm with PRC before you commit to anything.
Exam Structure
The NLE runs over two days across five Nursing Practice (NP) domains:
- Nursing Practice I — Foundations of nursing, community health.
- Nursing Practice II — Care of the mother and child.
- Nursing Practice III — Adult care, medical-surgical nursing.
- Nursing Practice IV — Clients with physiologic disturbances, plus psychiatric nursing.
- Nursing Practice V — Advanced community health nursing.
You need a 75% general average — and no subject below 60%. Both conditions matter; missing either one fails you.
How to Prepare
Most passers review for 10–16 weeks. Rotate the five domains so every one gets touched every week. Don't front-load. Don't back-load. Case-style rationales beat memorisation every time, because NLE questions test clinical judgement under pressure.
Super Tutor's NLE Track
Our NLE exam track runs rationale-driven case practice across all five domains, weekly full-length mocks, and analytics that flag exactly which domain needs the next review block. Focused Yearly is ₱1,999/year.
