Best NLE Reviewers and Apps for 2026
Best NLE reviewer round-up for 2026 — printed books, online platforms, mobile apps, and which ones actually move scores for working nurses and fresh grads.
By Super Tutor PH
Walk into any National Bookstore branch in NCR and you'll see the same NLE reviewer covers stacked five rows deep. Open Shopee and you'll find another fifty PDFs claiming to be "the only reviewer you need." Most of them aren't. Some are excellent. The trick is knowing which is which before you spend ₱2,000 on a book you'll abandon in two weeks.
This is the honest 2026 round-up. Best nle reviewer picks for printed books, online platforms, and mobile apps — with the use case for each. We're not ranking by marketing budget; we're ranking by what actually moves scores for first-takers, retakers, and working nurses.
1. Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN
Wait — NCLEX, not NLE? Yes, but hear it out. The clinical reasoning chapters and rationale-rich MCQs in Saunders are the gold standard for nursing review globally. Filipino reviewers buy it for the depth even though the surface content is US-flavoured. Use it for NP II (medical-surgical) and NP IV (psych/community concepts). Skip the US-specific legal and pharmacology chapters and substitute Filipino sources.
Cost: ~₱2,500-3,500 for the latest edition. Worth it for retakers; optional for first-takers on a budget.
2. Lippincott's Q&A Review for NCLEX-RN
Same caveat as Saunders — US-flavoured but the question patterns are excellent. Lighter than Saunders, more drilling-focused. Pair with a Filipino-context reviewer.
Cost: ~₱2,000-2,800. Best as a second-pass drilling source.
3. Local Filipino-Context Books
The locally published reviewers (Ronald Daniel's, Udan, Pillitteri's PH adaptation) cover the Filipino public health and PHN content that US books skip. They're often weaker on rationales but stronger on the RA 11223 and DOH programme content. Use them for:
- NP V (community health nursing) — the heaviest Filipino-context block
- Maternal-child care with cultural framing
- Nursing leadership theories tested in NP I
Cost: ₱600-1,200 per volume. Some come as five-volume sets covering all NP areas.
4. Super Tutor PH NLE Track
Our own platform, built for Filipino candidates. Adaptive question banks across all five NP areas, full-length 150-item mocks per area, pacing analytics, and rationales for every item. Works on mobile so working nurses can drill on shift breaks. Focused Yearly is ₱1,999/year — about 5-10% the cost of classroom review centres.
Best for: working nurses, retakers needing analytics, first-takers wanting consistent daily drilling. See the NLE track page.
5. NurseHub Online (Selected Modules)
NurseHub provides recorded lectures and MCQ banks. Quality varies by topic — pharm and NP II modules are strong, NP V is patchy. Buy by module rather than the full bundle. Useful supplement, not a primary platform.
Cost: ₱500-1,500 per module bundle.
6. Pinoy BSN MCQ App
Free mobile app with thousands of NLE-style MCQs. Quality is uneven — some items have weak rationales or outdated drug names. Useful for sheer volume drilling on commute, but verify rationales against a textbook before trusting them.
Cost: free with optional ad-removal in-app purchase.
7. Khan Academy (For NP I Foundations)
Free, US-based, but the anatomy and physiology content is excellent for NP I foundations review. Use for refreshing pre-clinical concepts before drilling NLE-style items elsewhere. Don't expect Filipino board-style coverage — that's not its purpose.
Cost: free.
8. UWorld NCLEX (For Hybrid Reviewers)
The premium NCLEX question bank. Filipino nurses planning to take both NLE and NCLEX often subscribe to UWorld for the NCLEX preparation; it adds value for the NLE only as supplementary clinical reasoning practice. Strong rationales, but expensive and US-focused.
Cost: USD $199-499 (~₱11,000-28,000) for 30-90 day access.
9. Review Centre Recordings (CPR, RA Gapuz, Carl Balita)
The major review centres sell recorded lecture sets for self-paced viewing. Quality varies by lecturer and cycle. Best as a content source for NP areas you struggle with. Don't expect MCQ analytics — these are lecture libraries.
Cost: ₱8,000-15,000 for full bundles.
10. Anki Decks (For Retainers)
Spaced repetition flashcard decks. Several free Filipino NLE decks circulate on community forums. Quality varies wildly. Use existing decks as a starting framework but build your own for high-yield content. Best for retakers who need to lock in pharmacology and lab values.
Cost: free (Anki itself); paid decks ₱500-1,500.
How to Pick
Don't buy more than you can finish. The pattern that works:
- One primary platform with daily drilling and analytics (Super Tutor or equivalent)
- One content book for deep reading (Saunders or local set)
- One free mobile app for commute drilling
- One review centre's recorded lectures for weak topics only
That's it. Four sources max. Reviewers who buy ten resources and finish two underperform reviewers who buy three resources and finish all three.
What to Avoid
- Old PDFs from 2018-2020 — circulating free online but missing post-2020 PRC table of specifications updates
- Reviewers without rationales — answer-key-only PDFs are useless for learning
- Single-topic crash courses — "3-day NP V intensive" doesn't move scores meaningfully
- Anything claiming "100% pass guarantee" — no legitimate reviewer guarantees this

FAQ
Do I need to buy the latest edition every year?
No. Editions 2-3 years old are usually fine for content. Verify against the latest PRC TOS for any major weighting changes.
Are free PDFs reliable?
Sometimes. Verify rationales against a textbook. Free isn't worth it if the answer key is wrong.
Can I pass with one platform alone?
Possible but riskier. The minimum safe combo is one drilling platform plus one content reference book.
What's the best app for commute drilling?
Super Tutor on mobile or Pinoy BSN MCQ for free volume. Verify rationales for the free app's items.
