Best CPALE Reviewers 2026: ReSA, CPAR, Books, Apps
The best CPALE reviewers for 2026 ranked — ReSA, CPAR, PRTC, plus the best books and online platforms working candidates actually use.
By Super Tutor PH
The CPALE review market in the Philippines is crowded. Three big classroom centres. A handful of mid-tier ones. A growing set of online platforms. Plus the bookshelf of textbook authors every candidate eventually meets — Valix, Ballada, Roque. So how do you pick the best cpale reviewer for your situation?
This is the practical 2026 ranking, sorted by what actually works for different candidate profiles. We'll compare classroom programmes, online platforms, books, and apps — and call out where each one wins and where each one falls short.
The Big Three Classroom Centres
1. ReSA — Review School of Accountancy
The historical heavyweight. Strong in FAR and AFAR, with a dense materials package. Tuition for the full classroom programme runs around ₱25,000-32,000 for the full review season. Pass rates hover near or above the national average.
Best for: traditional learners who want classroom structure, in-person Q&A, and a packed curriculum.
Where it falls short: rigid schedule. If you're working full-time, you'll miss sessions. The recorded videos help, but the classroom dynamic is the value driver.
2. CPAR — Center for Professional Advancement and Review
The other major centre. Strong on Taxation and RFBT — most working candidates rate CPAR's tax lecturers as the best in the city. Tuition similar to ReSA, around ₱22,000-30,000. Smaller batches mean more lecturer access.
Best for: candidates who want strong tax and RFBT instruction, smaller class sizes.
Where it falls short: AFAR coverage is sometimes weaker than ReSA's. If consolidations and partnerships are your weak block, supplement with another source.
3. PRTC — Professional Review and Training Center
The mid-tier alternative. Cheaper at around ₱15,000-22,000. Strong materials, especially the practice problem sets in Auditing and MAS.
Best for: budget-conscious candidates who don't want to skip classroom altogether.
Where it falls short: less brand recognition; some employers and some review veterans default to ReSA or CPAR.
Online Platforms
4. Super Tutor PH — CPALE Track
Our own platform. Item-level analytics, rationale-driven MCQ banks across all six subjects, mock papers under timed conditions, and continuous content updates that track the latest BoA TOS. Focused Yearly is ₱1,999/year — about 90% less than classroom programmes.
Best for: working candidates, repeat takers focused on weak-subject targeting, and anyone who wants flexible, self-paced review.
Where it falls short: no in-person classroom dynamic. If you genuinely need someone watching you study, a hybrid setup works better.
5. CPAR Online and ReSA Online
Both major centres now offer streaming-only enrollments. Cheaper than the classroom programme — around ₱12,000-18,000. You get access to lecture videos, materials, and quizzes.
Best for: candidates who want the brand-name lecturers without the classroom commitment.
Where it falls short: streaming-only enrollments often don't include the full mock exam package or one-on-one lecturer access. Read the fine print.
6. CPAR Pro and other niche apps
Mobile-first MCQ apps. Useful as supplements during commutes. Standalone, they're not enough.
Best for: bite-sized practice during transit. Pair with a primary review programme.
The Books Everyone Eventually Owns
7. Valix — Financial Accounting Series
Conrado Valix's FAR/AFAR series is the de facto standard textbook for accountancy programmes nationwide. Most CPALE candidates already own these from undergrad. Update your edition — the 2024 and 2025 editions reflect the latest PFRS amendments.
Best for: foundational FAR and AFAR understanding. Read the chapters before drilling MCQs.
8. Ballada — Financial Accounting Volumes 1, 2, 3
Sir Win Ballada's series is more accessible than Valix for some readers. Coverage is broader and the worked examples are clearer for visual learners.
Best for: candidates who find Valix dense. Pair with Valix for cross-reference.
9. Roque — Auditing Theory and Practice
Christian Aris Roque's Auditing materials are the standard reference. Updated regularly to reflect current PSAs.
Best for: Auditing review. Some candidates use Roque alongside CPAR's classroom Auditing materials.
10. Banggawan — Income Taxation
For Taxation, Rex Banggawan's text is the most-used. Updated regularly for TRAIN, CREATE, and CREATE MORE.
Best for: Taxation. Confirm you have the post-CREATE MORE edition.
How to Mix and Match
Most successful 2026 candidates use a 2-3 source stack:
- One primary classroom or online programme — for structure, mocks, and lecturer access. Pick ReSA, CPAR, PRTC, or Super Tutor PH.
- 1-2 textbook references — Valix or Ballada for FAR/AFAR; Banggawan for Tax; Roque for Auditing.
- One mobile/online MCQ supplement — for transit-time practice and weak-area drilling.
Spending ₱5,000-10,000 across three sources usually beats spending ₱30,000 on one.
Pass Rate Reality Check
Review centre marketing publishes pass rates that are often calculated on the centre's enrolled students who completed the programme — not on raw enrollees. The actual pass rate of a classroom programme is rarely above the national average by more than a few percentage points. Pick a reviewer for fit, not for marketing claims.
The Board of Accountancy publishes official cycle pass rates at boa.com.ph and PRC. Use those, not centre brochures.
For Working Candidates Specifically
If you're juggling cpale while working, the classroom-first approach often fails. Mid-week 6 PM lectures conflict with audit deadlines. The compressed weekend programmes work better for some, but burnout is real. Most working candidates do better with:
- An online platform as primary (flexibility wins)
- One textbook reference per subject
- Selective enrollment in classroom-style mock exams only
That gets the structured timing of mocks without the schedule conflict of weekly classes.
For Repeat Takers
If you've sat the CPALE before, your priority is targeted weak-subject drilling. Re-enrolling in a full classroom programme means re-paying for the strong subjects you've already conquered. Better:
- Online platform with subject-level analytics
- Subject-specific tutoring or lecture access for the 1-2 weak subjects
- Heavy mock exam discipline
Total spend: ₱5,000-8,000 instead of ₱25,000+.

FAQ
Is one classroom centre objectively better?
No. ReSA, CPAR, and PRTC each have strong and weak subjects. Pick the centre whose strengths match your weakest subjects, then supplement.
Are online platforms enough on their own?
For disciplined self-starters, yes. For candidates who need external accountability, hybrid (online primary + classroom mocks) works better.
Should I use 2020 or 2021 reviewer books?
No. CREATE MORE shifted Taxation. PFRS amendments shifted FAR. Use 2024 or 2025 editions minimum.
How important are review centre mocks?
Very. Even if you don't enroll in the full classroom programme, paying for mock exam access (usually ₱2,000-4,000) is one of the highest-ROI decisions you can make.
