AFPSAT 2026: Complete Review Guide for AFP Applicants

What is the AFPSAT?

The AFP Service Aptitude Test (AFPSAT) is the entrance exam for aspiring members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. AFP Recruitment and Selection administers it across multiple cycles throughout the year.

2026 Schedule

AFPSAT runs multiple cycles per year — usually March, June, September, and December. The next major cycle lands in June 2026. Confirm exact dates with your nearest AFP recruitment office.

Test Areas

• Verbal Reasoning — grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, analogies.
• Quantitative Reasoning — arithmetic, algebra, basic problem-solving.
• General Knowledge — Philippine history, civics, current events, military basics.
• Abstract Reasoning — pattern recognition, spatial reasoning, logical sequences.

Passing generally needs a 70+ general average. Officer candidacy (OCS) cutoffs run higher.

6-Week Review Plan

Weeks 1–2: Diagnostic plus rotate all four test areas daily (20–30 min each). Weeks 3–4: Focus on the 2 weakest areas; weekly full-length mocks. Weeks 5–6: Timed drills across all sections; 3 mocks in the final fortnight. Pacing matters more than most takers think — most AFPSAT failures come from running out of time in Abstract Reasoning, not from not knowing the material.
