Key insight: passing LET grants automatic CSC eligibility
Under RA 1080, passing any PRC board exam (including LET) automatically grants CSC eligibility. So:
- Pass LET → automatically CSC eligible
- You don't need to take CSE Pro separately if LET passed
- Apply for "RA 1080 Eligibility Certificate" from CSC
When you'd still take CSE Pro
- You're NOT pursuing teaching career (other government work)
- You want eligibility BEFORE finishing teaching degree
- Specific role requires CSE Pro (not RA 1080)
When LET is sufficient
For most teachers:
- LET certifies you to teach (private + DepEd)
- LET passage automatically gives RA 1080 CSC eligibility
- CSE Pro adds no additional capability for teaching
- Save time + money — don't take both unless needed
Common mistakes
- Taking CSE Pro after passing LET (unnecessary duplication)
- Not knowing about RA 1080 (then taking CSE Pro)
- Confusing LET (teaching) with CSE (general government)
